After the painful 6 minutes that was watching the PETA expose on the life before an Hermes' crocodile or alligator Birkin/Kelly bag, I was left not only in tears (no shock there) but also extremely happy with the response from Miss Jane Birkin herself. She denounced Hermes and called for an end in association with Hermes until the deplorable treatment of sentient beings was addressed and acted upon. Jane B strikes again!

What struck a nerve with me was this lack of humanity that is so prominent in a lot of aspects of this modern world. If its not cetaceans being slaughtered in Taiji, SeaWorld and sealife parks torturing and showing a complete lack of compassion and soul to these beings, its trophy hunting, its the Yulin Dog Festival, its sow stalls, the inhumane slaughter of farm animals, its cage eggs, its the fur industry. Where is the humanity? Where does the callous and barbaric treatment of fellow earthlings end? The brutality at every corner must end.

I'm always so in awe of nature, of the heart in animals whether that be a humble pigeon or a majestic lion. How many more harrowing exposés do we need for everyone to stand up for the voiceless?
So much of the world is calling for change, and at every corner we're met with more atrocities perpetrated by the food industry, fashion industry, scientific "research" and of course the "culture" rationalization. We must outweigh the inhumanity with love and compassion as peace will come of it.

So, thank you Jane Birkin for today making it known where you stand on the treatment of animals, you're still a babe and in my books you're 1000 times better than yesterday.
