Keith Richards and I don't have a million things in common. We do share a beloved Om scarf with Bob Dylan and Patti Smith, so we're in good company.
It is a a trusty neck warmer, but really so much more than that, an outfit maker, a declaration of Om wherever we may go. This post is about the Om. For a brief rundown of Om, it is an important syllable in all Dharmic religions. According to the Mandukya Upanishad "this symbol "Aum" or "Om" is the whole world!" Om is the one eternal syllable of which all that exists, it is everything, the past, the present, and the future. The frequency of Om has a profound effect on your body as it is recognised as the primordial sound, a hum that existed on this earth before material creation, the frequency of manifestation and creation. Om symbolizes the most profound concepts of universal creation including the three stages of existence (birth, life and death).

Keith and I also share a passion for Om, yes, but we also love good belts, coating, open tops, rings, silk blouses, henleys and neck scarfs. So you could say Keef and I are mates. This is my rendition of early Keith, had he been clean and drinking green juice and avocados daily. He isn't exactly renowned for his healthy lifestyle, but he has a healthy love for blues, rock and he is very good at mixing patterns and that is a massive feat in itself. Also, his book Life is a fun read, in between reading Pocket Mindfulness by Thich Naht Hanh and The Essential Rumi. Its called balance and moderation, friends.
