"The truth will set you free, but first it will piss you off"

There is so much more to this woman than good use of turtlenecks and aviators. Yes, this woman was foxy and fine, but the path she paved for the women of 60s and 70s alllllll the way to the future is so much better than a good pair of flares. She is the Girl Almighty to end all Girl Almightys. She is a superhero for women. She is feisty, sassy and fiercely intelligent (and then some) and bore the all the attributes of a classic Aries and the hallmarks that a woman needs to make waves and manifest global change. She did it. Ten fold. Gloria pioneered the womens rights movement of the 60's, 70's and beyond, working with other fantastical women to change it for us today. The power of activism is that you triumph for the generations to come and we ought to be so grateful for the women who copped flack for defending and fighting for the woman, empowering them along the way. The creation of Ms. Magazine was by the women, for the women and was a watershed moment having this entirely female run magazine perched in newstands. Without her work, where would women be in our ability to write freely, work freely, create our own businesses, have success and be recognised for our hearts and our brains, creativity and our wit.

Women are innately powerful; childbirth is courageous, liberating, magic and brave and somewhere along the line it was forgotten that women have this power in them, whether they choose to have children or not. That energy flows through women and is unique to women. Your cells radiate with strength and soul. When you think of Gloria, think of how strong you are - just by being a woman. You were born strong and with worth and that is the fucking coolest thing ever.

So today, read some Gloria Steinem quotes and then (only then) you can look at her flares.
